Day 3: Cycling the Mereenie Loop to Uluru

Day 3 - Bush Camp to Kings Canyon ~ 100km

"Finally made it to Kings Canyon! I am currently sitting in the resort after 90kms of riding. A much easier day with only about 7 hours in the saddle. The road conditions were mostly good but at times were far worse than anything I've experienced along the loop so far. Soft corrugated sand!

Highlights of the day include finally hitting bitumen after 200km of gravel roads. I was so stoked. Even better was that 2 people from adventure tours who I met on Day 2 of my Larapinta walk happened to just pass me just as this happened. They recognised me turned their tour bus around to say hello, it was a massive coincidence and I'm so happy that I got to celebrate the moment with someone else.

Once I reached the resort I paid for a campsite but will see Kings Canyon tomorrow. Its ~10km from here and I've had headwinds all day so I'm going to rest my legs and see it tomorrow. A nice day of riding!"

Morning frost covered everything

Aka, slow down

All the corrugations loosened every bolt on my bike, my rack nearly fell apart along the way.

The days scenery was much like this

Figured I should put my tarp up for a little 'privacy' since I was at a campsite
